Since 1978, the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame has recognized broadcasters whom have had an impact on the game of baseball by inducting them in to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY and awarding them with the Ford C. Frick Award. Ford Frick was a President of the National League and a Commissioner of Major League Baseball, but never a broadcaster. With the recent passing of Vin Scully, considered by many to be on of the best baseball broadcaster of all time, we are petitioning that the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame rename the Ford C. Frick Award the Vin Scully Award in honor of the long time Dodger broadcaster who gave 67 years of love and devotion to broadcasting baseball games.
