#Safety #Safety for citizens #Dangerous roadway #traffic light request
It’s overdue. The corner of South Lincoln and Norwood ave in Oakhurst can no longer be safely navigable, not by cyclists, pedestrians, scooters, motorcyclists or even drivers.
My office overlooks this corner and I have witnessed close calls, horn standers (you know what that is), and now traffic that can back up to as far as the overpass.
No one, that holds a public office in Oakhurst or Long Branch, can come up to this intersection and say that it is safe for any sort of traffic to navigate a turn or, dare I say, cross the street by foot or on a bicycle or scooter.
And it’s these people, that we elected into office, that are responsible for the public safety of us, their constituents.
I call upon, US, their constituents to make our voice heard, and hear our decision; WE NEED A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON THE CORNER OF SOUTH LINCOLN AND NORWOOD AVE IN OAKHURST.
We can no longer wait, no study needs to be done to prove the need. We can act proactively, or, and I hate to say this, act reactively after an incident involving a motor vehicle or god forbid, a pedestrian or one of our kids.
