CWA D9 Petition to Vote Now!!!

We are members of the CWA Frontier Bargaining Unit that believe our voices have not been heard or for some reason, we are less important than others and if so ignored.  We are demanding that CWA allow the members the democratic right to vote on the contract, as many positive changes have been made during Mediation.  It is our right, in a democratic Union to vote.  CWA Leadership has in the past stood for democracy of the members.  Where is the democracy now???

Rumors have surfaced that our highly democratic Union is going to call a strike at anytime now.  How could this be, in a democratic Union???  There are significant changes to what was voted on earlier this year.  If CWA is a democratic Union, then we must be given the right to vote, again.  Allow democracy, put the contract out for a vote.  Let us speak in the democratic way that is CWA and put it to a vote, now!

An imminent strike may just be rumors from those that want a strike for their egos.  However, many of us are responsible for the livelihood of our families and extended families and our voices should be heard also.  The rumors are that some CWA Leadership has told them that a strike is imminent.  They are excited and calling us pressuring us to agree that a strike is the right decision.  This Union is supposed to be democratic, not a mob run Union that the loudest voice is the only one heard.  We have not heard from CWA that a strike is imminent and believe that would be an attack on the democracy of our Union, if it were true.

 

The bargaining reports have been confusing.  One day they are positive and looks like we are going to reach an agreement and the next they are full of doom.  We as members see that significant change has been made and demand the right to vote on the changes.  Who would have a problem with allowing members democracy?  LETS VOTE NOW!!!
