The definition of archery is: the sport or skill of shooting with a bow and arrows, especially at a target, The modern day crossbows and “Range finding scopes”, Are taking almost 100% of the skill needed too harvest a deer with archery equipment. I understand some people are unable too pull back a lethal poundage on a compound bow too harvest a deer, or have medical exemptions too use a crossbow. I’m am completely fine and understanding of those people. But at what point do we say that it is not “Bow hunting” anymore when we have range finding scopes, and crossbows that shoot up too 500 fps. The challenge of bow hunting is getting up close and personal with the animals, and practicing shooting your archery equipment in the off season. The modern day 400fps+ cross bows and range finding scopes are taking the challenge out of archery hunting. So am I here today too start a petition too ban all crossbows over 400fps+ and any range finding scopes in the state of Vermont
